§ 1-3. Catchlines of sections; effect of history notes, cross references, etc.; references to Code.

The catchlines of the several sections of this Code printed in boldface type are intended as mere catchwords to indicate the contents of the section and are not be deemed or taken to be titles of such sections or part of the section, nor, unless expressly so provided, are they to be so deemed when any section, including the catchline, is amended or reenacted.

(b)

All cross references, state law references and other editorial notes are intended for the convenience of the user of this Code and no such reference or note is a substantive part of this Code, nor are they to be construed as legal judgments or interpretation of the law.

(c)

All references to ordinances appearing in parenthetical form following sections of this Code are not substantive parts of this Code.

(d)

All references in this Code to chapters, articles, divisions, or sections are to chapters, articles, divisions, or sections of this Code unless provided otherwise.
